Il contigente degli USA ha celebrato la propria festa nazionale con Colleghi e Ospiti del NRDC-ITA oggi 2 luglio 2010. Nel suo intervento, il Tenente Colonnello Gregory Rhoden, rappresentante del contigente USA, ha evidenziato l’unicità del festeggiare il “Giorno dell’Indipendenza” tra amici e colleghi provenienti da diverse nazioni che hanno avuto un ruolo centrale nella formazione e nello sviluppo degli Stati Uniti d’America. Il Tenente Colonnello Rhoden ha inoltre chiarito che il fatto di celebrare questo evento due giorni prima dell’effettivo giorno, non è da intendersi inappropriato, in quanto la separazione legale delle colonie americane dalla Gran Bretagna avvenne proprio il 2 Luglio 1776, allorquando il Secondo Congresso del Continente approvò la risoluzione di indipendenza. Per l'evento, gli ospiti hanno potuto degustare i tipici piatti che vengono preparati in occasione della celebrazione che si svolge il 4 Luglio negli Stati Uniti.
The US Contingent celebrated their national day with the Officer, Soldiers, and Guests of NRDC-ITA on July 2, 2010. In his remarks, LTC Gregory Rhoden, the USA Senior National Representative, highlighted the uniqueness of celebrating Independence Day among friends and colleagues from many of the nations that played pivotal roles in the formation and development of the United States of America. He also pointed out that even though we were having this celebration two days earlier than actual holiday, it was none the less appropriate because the legal separation of the American colonies from Great Britain occurred on the 2nd of July 1776 when the Second Continental Congress voted to approve the resolution of independence. Afterward, guests were treated to a sampling of foods that are typically served at 4th of July celebrations in the US
